What to Check When Buying a Megillat Esther
Reading the Megillah on Purim from a kosher parchment scroll is a special privilege. These are the key points.
Traditional "HaMelech" columns
The 11-line format, where every column opens with the word "HaMelech", as well as 21-line and 28-line formats.
Fine white klaf shelil
Written on smooth white klaf shelil, carefully processed to keep the tagin and ink sharp.
Computer and scribe proofreading
A full check against the Masoretic text, a computer proofread and a review by a certified scribe.
Silver and wood cases
An optional silver filigree case, a decorated olive-wood case or a rigid leather sleeve.
